Kind Words 

We were a group of 17 High School friends from the 60's. We wanted to stay under one roof with privacy, but space for getting together for conversations and group fun. The Whiting Cottage looked perfect with a detailed and complete description. The pictures did not do it justice - it was perfect! The rooms were clean with fresh linen and tasteful decorations. Everything we needed was provided. The Kinton family met us on arrival and answered every question on the tour.

We ordered Lobsters and Clams from Tom's Southern Maine Lobster Company and were treated to 5 star feast to rival the Ritz.

Mark, Erin, Lauren and Tom could not have been more helpful. Two in the group manage VRBO properties, and this was setting a new standard.

The house is large in beautiful location. The many bedrooms and bathrooms and spacious common areas make it ideal for a large family gathering. The massive front porch is a great place to sit relax and watch the world go by. The back deck has a large dining table and the barbecue is big enough to cook for the entire crowd.

The beach is an easy stroll along the sidewalk or a short hike along the cliff walk.

The owner is the host and a long time resident of the area. He's a nice guy and a good source for recommendations for things to see and do. His son runs a Lobster shop less than ten minutes from the house and they cook up delicious lobster and steamers for take out.

I highly recommend the place.

This property was in the perfect location in York. It was close to all the best beaches and shopping! The first thing we noticed was how clean the entire house was. It was beautifully decorated and organized. There was not one detail overlooked. Any amenity you could think of was provided, including a fully stocked solo stove, board games galore, beach towels, extra blankets and any kitchen item you could think of! We had plenty of room for our large family and friends to stay comfortably. There was plenty of parking and outside space to play games in the yard or roast marshmallows on the solo stove!

From the first connection with the owners, I felt that we had found a diamond in the rough! The owners were the most accommodating people I've ever encountered in my long journey with rentals! I would wholeheartedly recommend this house for a rental!

All the bathrooms made it simple for everyone to get ready for the big event. Fabulous hospitality! They were also able to accommodate our 18 month old grandchild with a high chair, baby gates and a pack and play!

The bedding and towels were top quality and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was the cleanest rental we have been in!The fire pit in the backyard was hit, and that front porch was an ideal gathering spot for the whole group, from morning coffee, to cocktails in the afternoon. A wonderful place to celebrate family and have a relaxing and fun long weekend!

The Whiting House is an absolutely beautiful, clean, well decorated venue. It provided excellent accommodations for my family, the bridal party and our close relatives. The first floor living room wing was used as the bridal suite for wedding preparations for the bride and bridesmaids. The front porch is so large that one side was used for the rehearsal dinner and the other side was filled with outside seating to relax. The large main kitchen allowed for morning coffee and breakfast. Everyone remarked on how lovely and accommodating the venue was for this event. Mark was a wonderful host who communicates well and offered suggestions to help us make wonderful memories for a lifetime. So very grateful to him. His family are very good people and this is a highly recommended venue.

This large expensive home, which has been recently renovated and was an excellent choice for a large extended family. We were a group of 13 adults and four children and we had plenty of space for all of us to come together for meals, socializing, games, as well as privacy, if desired. This wonderful home was immaculately clean and had all of the amenities we required, and then some. Tom was an excellent host and could not have been more accommodating, polite and did everything possible to ensure our stay was enjoyable. He was a pleasure to work with. The location was excellent as we could walk to one beach within a few minutes or drive to other beaches five minutes away. Likewise, York is within close proximity to Portsmouth, Ogunquit and other wonderful locations along the Maine and New Hampshirite coast. We look forward to returning as soon as possible
